L & R Alpaca Haven Farm began a few years after they moved to a house with 4 acres that had a two-stall barn. They acquired an entire herd of Alpacas in July of 2016 and have since added more, including several born at their farm. The love and passion they have for animals made it an easy decision that they have never regretted. (By the way, that original alpaca is TJ, who is every visitor’s favorite!)

To better accommodate the herd, they moved to a 25-acre property with more room and better facilities to grow their herd.  Alpacas are such gentle, peaceful animals and are a true joy to be around. Their motto is regardless of your age “Alpacas make you smile®” and so far, no one has ever disagreed! L&R absolutely loves their alpacas.  Come Visit Them!

Today we got to meet Kevin Hess of  Survivor Junk Removal, Kevin is a  Small Business owner and a Cancer Survivor!  From being a caregiver to his father to being diagnosed with Colon Cancer at the age of only 46.  To battle-scarred and strengthened Survivor, ready to help others with their battles.  Kevin has also been diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome, a hereditary disorder that increases the risk of many kinds of cancers.  So His fight is far from over.

Because of the impact cancer has had on his life, and the lives of his loved ones, He decided to do something about it.   Not only is he sharing his own story and fight, but he’s joined Relay For Life, and The American Cancer Society to remember people we've lost and offer support to anyone in our community who is affected by cancer.

That's why he chose to dedicate his business to have a meaningful impact on the lives of Cancer patients and their families in OUR community.   Together we can make a difference!  He also donates proceeds to help fight cancer.

Mr. Thurman always wanted to start his own business mainly so he could have the freedom to spend more time with his children.  He wanted the flexibility to create his own schedule while still being able to provide for them.  His children are his #1 priority!  Time is flying  by to quickly and he doesn’t want to miss any important moments with them.  He loves being present in their lives, especially while they are young.  He is an amazing dad and not only spends time with his children by helping with homework and school projects but also coaches their little league basketball, softball and  baseball teams!  I just love this young man’s heart!
